The Fright Lounge (“we,” “us,” “our”) runs thefrightlounge.com, a site about horror shows and original horror lifestyle merchandise. This page explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. If you have questions, contact us at rich@thefrightlounge.com.
Information we collect
- Order information. When you buy something, we collect your name, email address, shipping and billing address, and phone number if you give one, plus the items you ordered.
- Payment information. Payments are handled by our payment processors (WooPayments, which is powered by Stripe, and PayPal if you choose it). Your card number goes directly to them. We never see or store your full card number.
- Messages you send us. If you use our contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address and message.
- Account information. If you create an account, we store your login details and order history.
- Technical information. Like most websites, our servers and the services we use receive your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. We use cookies to run the shopping cart and checkout (see “Cookies” below).
How we use it
- To process and ship your order, send order confirmations and shipping updates, and handle returns and support.
- To calculate shipping and sales tax.
- To reply to your messages.
- To keep the site secure and prevent fraud.
- To meet legal and tax record-keeping requirements.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
We share only what is needed to run the store, with these kinds of service providers:
- Printful, our print-on-demand fulfillment partner, receives your name, shipping address and order details so they can make and ship your items.
- Stripe / WooPayments and PayPal, which process payments and help prevent fraud.
- WooCommerce and Automattic services, which provide our store software and calculate sales tax from your shipping address.
- Our website host, which stores the site and its data.
- Shipping carriers, through Printful, who deliver your order.
- Authorities, if we are legally required to.
These providers have their own privacy policies and handle your information under those policies.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored in your browser. We use cookies that are necessary for the store to work, such as remembering what is in your cart and keeping you logged in. Videos on our site are embedded from YouTube, which may set its own cookies when you play a video. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the store may stop working if you do.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as needed to fulfill your order, handle returns, and meet tax and accounting requirements. Messages sent through the contact form are kept for as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable time afterward.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, except where we need to keep it for legal or tax reasons. Residents of some states and countries have additional rights under local law. To make a request, email rich@thefrightlounge.com.
Children
Our site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Security
The site uses HTTPS encryption, and payments are processed by established payment providers. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows when it was last changed.
